Locally-grown Afro Caribbean veggies
Okra, sweet potatoes, varieties of hot peppers and eggplants, Lalo aka Callaloo leaves, Caribbean & Chayote squashs, and fresh herbs es are only examples of the produce that customers of Jardins Lakou will be able to find in their plate.

By cooking with Jardins Lakou’s locally-grown produce, customers will get the healthiest, freshest, and the best quality of Afro Caribbean veggies possible. And, to help them cook delicious meals at home, Afro Caribbean inspired recipes will be sent by email and will be published online.

Environmentally conscious agriculture
Inspired by the Creole gardens in Haiti, Jardins Lakou is a new bio-intensive micro-farm. Located on the property of the Corry family in Dunham in the Eastern Townships region, the farm covers an area of 3.5 acres and has a multipurpose agricultural building to produce and prepare market garden products. By the “bio-intensive” horticultural production method adopted at Jardins Lakou, our team seeks to maximize the yield of the cultivated areas we have available with the aim of preserving, even improving, the quality of the soil. We aim to obtain our organic certification by 2021. We are committed to providing you with healthy, unprocessed food, without middlemen and unnecessary packaging.
Constantly improving our infrastructures
Several improvements were already carried out in 2019 and several others will be planned in the coming years. The goal of Jean-Philippe Vézina, founder and director of Jardins Lakou, is to reach the full potential of the farm by 2022. Much more than "just a farm", Jardins Lakou will be for young people, community centers and families from Montreal, a meeting place in nature to work the land together, attend training and share the rich culinary and agricultural traditions of Africa and the Caribbeans.
